Polyurethane Elastomer (PU / TPU)

Polyurethane (PU) has become one of the most widely used materials for hydraulic and pneumatic sealing applications over recent years. This is mainly due to its outstanding mechanical and physical properties, such as its excellent resistance to abrasion, wear and extrusion in comparison to other common sealing materials.
Polyurethane is extremely versatile and can be adapted to suit a wide range of applications via a number of different material modifications and formulations. Modifications such as internal lubricants to provide low friction properties, modifications to provide hydrolysis resistance to prevent material degradation while being used in hot water or water based fluids, or simply increased hardness to help with extrusion resistance as well as many others.

Description

Our standard polyurethane offering for applications working in reduced temperatures.

Our standard Hydrolysis–Resistant Polyurethane (H-PU). While this material was created to prevent material degradation in applications involving fluids such as oil in water emulsions or pure water, it is recommended as a sealing material in most hydraulic applications.

A food contact compliant hydrolysis resistant polyurethane material (H-PU) that is white in colour and has been modified to provide resistance in the most common food contact applications, such as fatty foodstuff.

A purple H-PU material that has been modified to provide good chemical resistance in food contact applications where the most common Clean-In-Place (CIP) fluids are used. Approvals: FDA Compliant, EC 10/2011 Compliant, 3-A (18-03) Sanitary Class II Compliant.

An FDA compliant polyurethane material that is natural/clear in colour. The material has been approved for applications in dry, aqueous and fatty foodstuffs.

A Hydrolysis–Resistant Polyurethane (H-PU) that has been modified for use in low-temperature hydraulic operations and can also be used for food contact applications.
